A food and drink festival is set to take place next month in Tavistock, West Devon, promising to showcase the best local fare, crafts, and entertainment the region has to offer. The eat:Tavistock festival, organized by eat:Festivals, will feature over 60 local food and drink producers, as well as traditional craftspeople. Visitors can expect a sensory feast with a wide range of local ales, ciders, wines, artisanal bread, cakes, pies, street food, spirits, and charcuterie. The festival will also offer live music to enhance the vibrant atmosphere.
One of the sponsors of the food and drink festival is Flapjackery, a Tavistock-based confectionery company specializing in gluten-free flapjacks. Founded by Carol Myott and Sally Jenkin nine years ago, Flapjackery creates their delicious treats by hand at their bakery in Tavistock. Since opening their first shop in Tavistock five years ago, they have expanded to nine additional locations, with plans to launch two more shops in Dartmouth and Falmouth this year. Carol expressed her excitement about supporting the festival, stating that it will bring new visitors to Tavistock and provide an opportunity for local producers to showcase their products. She also highlighted the abundance of great small producers in the Westcountry who contribute to the unique tastes and flavors of the region.
Sarah Milner Simonds, the event organizer of eat:Festivals, expressed her delight in delivering Tavistock's first eat:Festival, which celebrates the area's finest food, drink, and crafts. The eat:Tavistock festival will be held on Sunday, April 21, from 10am to 4pm along Duke Street and Bedford Square. Diversions will be in place from 7am to 7pm to accommodate the event.
