The Nashville Public Library Foundation (NPLF) is gearing up for its 9th annual Picnic with the Library event, set to take place on Sunday, April 28 at the Main Library Branch downtown. This year's Picnic will be themed around 'The Wonderful Wizard of Oz' and promises to bring the classic tale to life for children of all ages.

The event is co-chaired by Caroline and Rascoe Dean, Tiffany and Alfred Degrafinreid, and Lindsay and Tyson Moore. These individuals have shown a deep commitment to advancing NPLF's mission and their involvement is greatly appreciated. Their dedication will help support early literacy and Nashville Public Library programs.

The Picnic with the Library event promises an afternoon of family-friendly fun. Guests can purchase a picnic basket package, which includes story times from Wishing Chair Productions, family photos, face painting, music, crafts, dinner, cocktails, and more. Children will have the opportunity to interact with beloved book characters such as Dorothy, Tin Man, Scarecrow, and the Lion.

The funds raised from Picnic with the Library are crucial in supporting life-changing children's early literacy programming. These programs include NPL's Wishing Chair Productions, story times, Puppet Truck visits, mentorship programs, and early literacy initiatives that benefit over 100,000 children and their families.

This year, there is an exciting new addition to the event. Every ticket purchase automatically enters guests into a drawing for a chance to win a private Puppet Truck performance. NPL's Puppet Truck brings stories to life through music, songs, and puppetry. This exclusive opportunity to reserve the truck for a private event cannot be obtained through any other means.

Starting from March 7, the picnic basket package, which includes tickets for two adults and up to four children, will be available for purchase. To learn more about this annual fundraiser or to participate in Picnic with the Library, please visit nplf.org/picnic.
