Ilfracombe Beer Fest Returns with New Headline Sponsor: North Devon Resort and Monkey Puzzle

The highly anticipated Ilfracombe Beer Fest is set to make its return this May, following its successful debut last year. Organized by Ilfracombe Round Table, this charity event has announced a new headline sponsor, North Devon Resort, and their unique restaurant and events venue, Monkey Puzzle. With their support, the festival experience for attendees is expected to be enhanced.
Taking place on the green in front of the Landmark Theatre, under the canvas tipis of World Inspired Tents, Ilfracombe Beer Fest will run from Friday, May 24 to Bank Holiday Monday, May 27. The event offers free entry for all, providing an opportunity to enjoy a variety of beers, tasty street food, and live music throughout the weekend.
Last year's inaugural event proved to be a huge success, with organizers overwhelmed by the demand for a refreshing pint in the sun, with the added bonus of sea views. "After the first day, we quickly realized that we would need a lot more beer and cider," said Matt Child, lead organizer from Ilfracombe Round Table. "The rest of the weekend was just as busy, and we were truly amazed by the positive feedback we received. We are thrilled to have North Devon Resort and Monkey Puzzle as our headline sponsors this year, as their support will help us take the event to the next level."
Cyan Silver, events manager at the Ilfracombe-based holiday park, expressed pride in partnering with Beer Fest. "This event embodies everything that makes our community in Ilfracombe so special - bringing people together with live music, great food, and of course, fantastic beer. Last year, Ilfracombe Beer Fest raised an incredible £10,000 for charity, and this year, in collaboration with Ilfracombe Round Table, we are determined to surpass that amount, ensuring even more worthy causes in our area can benefit."
Matt further emphasized the importance of local business support for the event and mentioned that they are still seeking more companies to support Beer Fest in 2024. The best way to show support is by sponsoring a barrel, which includes having the company name displayed on the keg, in the program, on the sponsors' board, and on social media. Additionally, sponsors receive four free pints of their sponsored beer. Matt encouraged interested parties to get in touch and show their support, as every pound raised will benefit local charitable causes. Last year's event resulted in a donation of £10,000 to Families in Grief, and the organizers hope to make a similar impact this year.
