For the past seven years, Pensacola's Habitat for Humanity has organized food truck festivals to raise funds for their charitable initiatives. This year, they decided to step away from hosting the event, but thanks to Sean DeSmet's initiative, the May the Fourth Food Truck and Cosplay Fest was born. DeSmet, the owner of 3-D Eats food truck, reached out to Habitat for Humanity and expressed his desire to support their organization.

Taking place on May 4th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Pensacola's Harley Davidson on Pensacola Blvd, the festival will feature around 14 local food trucks offering a wide variety of cuisines. Attendees will be charged a $5 admission fee, with children 10 and under attending for free. In addition, the food truck vendors will be donating 10% of their sales to Habitat for Humanity.

A Celebration of Food and Cosplay

The May the Fourth Food Truck and Cosplay Fest not only supports a worthy cause but also provides a unique experience for attendees. In the spirit of May the Fourth, which sounds like 'may the force,' the festival encourages visitors to dress up in cosplay attire. Whether you're a Star Wars fan or simply love getting into character, this is the perfect opportunity to showcase your creativity.

Aside from the cosplay aspect, the festival offers a culinary adventure like no other. With 14 local food trucks participating, you can indulge in a wide range of cuisines, from gourmet egg rolls and smoked barbecue to pad Thai and fried chicken. And don't forget to satisfy your sweet tooth with loaded cinnamon rolls and soft serve ice cream.

But the May the Fourth Food Truck and Cosplay Fest isn't just about food and cosplay. There will be various activities for the whole family to enjoy, including karaoke, a bounce house, and more. It's a day of fun, community, and support for a worthy cause.

Making a Difference with Every Dollar

By attending the May the Fourth Food Truck and Cosplay Fest, you'll not only have a great time but also contribute to Habitat for Humanity's mission of building affordable housing. Every dollar raised through the festival goes directly towards providing homes for those in need. This year, Habitat for Humanity aims to raise $5,000 through the event, and your support can make a significant impact.

When you purchase food from the participating food trucks, 10% of the sales will be donated to Habitat for Humanity. So, while you savor the delicious flavors, you're also making a difference in someone's life. It's a win-win situation!

Additionally, Habitat for Humanity will have an information booth at the festival, where you can learn more about their programs and how you can get involved. It's a fantastic opportunity to connect with the organization and discover how you can contribute to their efforts beyond the festival.
