Delapré Abbey has recently unveiled its exciting events programme for Spring and Summer 2024. As part of the Abbey's sixth birthday celebrations, the programme promises to offer more festivals, fun, and family-friendly events than ever before. This year also marks the sixth anniversary since the Abbey opened its doors to the public, making it a special occasion for all involved.
The Spring and Summer events programme at Delapré Abbey is expected to attract over 90,000 visitors. It includes a wide range of activities such as Easter egg hunts, food festivals, falconry and dinosaur events, a summer festival, silent discos on the lawns, and much more. The aim is to bring the community together while also generating a sustainable source of income to ensure the Abbey's preservation for future generations.
Richard Clinton, the Chief Executive of Delapré Abbey, has been leading the team since February 2020. He is excited about the upcoming events and the opportunity to engage with the community. Amanda Nicols-Polinksa, the Operations Director at Delapré Abbey Preservation Trust, expressed her enthusiasm for the programme, stating, "We will be celebrating our sixth year with a bigger programme than ever. All our events are aimed at bringing our community together while also creating a sustainable source of income that will ensure the Abbey is here for generations to come and enable us to continue to develop our well-being programme further. Come and visit us – there is something for everyone."
Key Events at Delapré Abbey
Among the key events planned at Delapré Abbey are the Easter Eggstravaganza, where visitors can participate in an egg hunt in the Walled Garden and enjoy an animal petting experience. The Delapre Food Festival will offer a variety of stalls, street food, chef demos, and tasting sessions. The Summertime Live event will feature live music, DJs, street food, and funfair amusements. The highly anticipated Dinosaurs in the Park event will bring roaring dinosaurs to the Abbey, with tickets expected to sell out quickly. Other events include the Summer Wellbeing Fair, the Battle of Northampton Memorial Day, and the Falconry Display.
