As the temperatures begin to rise, thoughts of enjoying delicious food from a food truck while sipping on a cold brew and listening to live music in a beer garden become more enticing. While this may still be a few months away, plans are already underway to make this daydream a reality. The Tap Yard-Waukesha recently announced that it will be hosting food trucks every week in Minooka Park, providing tasty treats for its eager customers. Additionally, live music will be featured on two Saturdays each month.

The official opening date for The Tap Yard-Waukesha, located at 1927 E. Sunset Drive, is set for May 1st. However, there will be popup beer gardens on weekends when the temperature reaches 60 degrees Fahrenheit or higher. These early openings will be announced on The Tap Yard-Waukesha's social media platforms.

This will be the second year that the beer garden operates near the pond in Minooka Park, but its fourth year in Waukesha. Previously, it was located in the parking lot of the Shoppes at Fox River. The beer garden has gained popularity through its food truck festivals, which will continue this year. Some of the upcoming festivals include Grilled Cheese Fest on May 5th, Taco Fest on June 2nd, Wag Fest (a dog-themed event) on August 24th, and a second Taco Fest on September 15th due to its popularity.

Food will be available at The Tap Yard-Waukesha from Wednesday through Sunday. On Wednesdays, customers can enjoy Italian comfort food from Amore De La Cucina. Thursdays will feature finger-lickin' good meat from Benet's BBQ, and Fridays will offer a variety of tacos, gyros, and fusion food from Phoenix Mobile Grill. Saturdays will showcase Taqueria Miyagi, and Sundays will satisfy cravings for grilled cheese sandwiches from Shorty's Grilled Cheese.

Phoenix Mobile Grill will be a regular food truck at The Tap Yard for the first time this year. Owner Celena Aguilar expressed excitement about the opportunity to share their food with new customers. The food truck's menu includes Korean BBQ tacos, traditional tacos, quesadillas, burritos, and even fusion items like birria ramen. Aguilar mentioned that The Tap Yard is a great location for their truck and hopes to reach more people through this partnership.

The Tap Yard-Waukesha takes pride in offering locally sourced beer from the region. To celebrate its anniversary on May 4th, the beer garden will feature a performance by Waukesha-based band Katie Mack and the Moan. Additionally, there will be a "Battle of Birds" beer event, pitting Central Waters against Goose Island.
